Video: Building Emirates' A380 floral installation

Time-lapse video shows how more than 200 people worked 10 hours a day for 180 days to build, layer and mount the textural foliage on the Emirates A380 structure

Covered in more than 500,000 fresh flowers and plants, the Emirates A380 installation will have a total stem count of 5 million flowers once in full bloom, weighing over 100 tonnes.

More than 200 people worked 10 hours a day for 180 days to build, layer and mount the textural foliage on the 30 tonne steel structure that makes up the Emirates A380, according to WAM.

Over 9,000 flowers and plants make up the Emirates logo, with 100,000 blossoms forming the structure’s wings, reaching over 80.27 metres wide.

Take a look at how the record-breaking installation was created below.
