Abu Dhabi: IOSH to host sixth UAE networking event
Representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health Center, and Dubai Municipality will provide updates at the conference
The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) will host its sixth UAE Annual Networking Conference in Abu Dhabi next month.
Representatives from the UAE Ministry of Education, the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHAD), and Dubai Municipality will provide updates on their work at the event.
Speakers and attendees will also discuss challenges related to occupational safety and health, and discuss ways in which these obstacles can be overcome.
Ahmed El Hadidi, chair of IOSH’s UAE branch, commented: “By prioritising the safety and health of employees, organisations are investing in their future success.
“A safe, healthy, creative, and engaged workforce leads to increased productivity which, in turn, drives business performance. Organisations in the UAE and other parts of the world are constantly developing new ways of doing this, often involving new technology.
“Our networking conference will highlight some of these new initiatives. It will also give delegates the chance to network among themselves, to bring about new ideas, and to build new partnerships.”
The conference’s keynote address will be delivered by an official from the Ministry of Education. El Hadidi added: “We have some exciting presentations planned. We are delighted that the Ministry of Education, OSHAD, and Dubai Municipality will be joining us at our event.”
Other speakers will include director of health and safety at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff and vice-chair of IOSH’s UAE branch, Dr Rob Cooling; PepsiCo’s Cormac Gilligan; and Jason Woods of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF).
The IOSH UAE Annual Networking Conference will take place at Abu Dhabi’s Al Raha Beach Hotel on Thursday, 8 December, 2016. It is open to IOSH members, safety and health professionals, and other business leaders with an interest in the safety and health of their employees.
