Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has provided 1,602 parking slots along the Dubai Water Canal, the authority said in a statement.
The move will allow ease of mobility for visitors by offering spaces to park vehicles during visits to the Canal.
Engineer Maitha bin Adai, CEO of Traffic & Roads Agency, RTA, said: “The RTA has provided 1,602 additional parking slots in several areas along the two sides of the Canal.
“652 parking slots bearing the Code G were provided at the Business Bay district, and 628 parking slots were allocated beneath the bridge of Sheikh Zayed Road & at Safa Park, in addition to 322 parking slots within the Dubai Water Canal bearing the Code A.”
The CEO added that it will also allow the use of seasonal parking cards along the canal area, though these cards will not be accepted for Business Bay parking slots.
The RTA aims to develop key infrastructure such as parking slots to help transform the area into a major tourist attraction.
