The UAE's Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme (SZHP) approved $79.06mm (AED290.4m) in housing loans and grants for 490 eligible citizens, it was recently announced.

Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, the country's Minister of Infrastructure Development and chairman of the board of SZHP's directors, confirmed the development.

The amount covers 352 residential housing grants and 79 housing loans, Al Nuaimi said, according to WAM.

This November, SZHP announced it would develop homes worth $89.8m (AED330m) in the UAE's Ras Al Khaimah emirate.

Located off Exit 119 of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, the development will span 39.6ha (396,480 sqm) and comprise 354 units.

Jameela Al Fandi, director-general of SZHP, said the project will be completed by early 2019.
