UAE: Winston & Strawn hires new partner in Dubai
Winston & Strawn has appointed Shibeer Ahmed as partner and head of banking and Islamic finance in Dubai
Winston & Strawn has appointed a new partner in the UAE.
Shibeer Ahmed will join the legal firm’s Dubai office as partner and head of banking and Islamic finance.
In his most recent role, Ahmed headed White & Case’s GCC conventional and Islamic bank finance practice.

During the past decade, Ahmed has advised clients on financing transactions in Europe, the Middle East, Turkey, Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, Southeast Asia, and Africa.
With specialties including project finance, Islamic finance, and conventional finance, Ahmed has a proven track record of guiding clients through highly complex finance-related proceedings.
Ahmed has also advised a selection of financial institutions, including commercial banks, export credit agencies, and development finance institutions. Topics covered include multi-sourced project and Islamic financings, and sukuk issues.
