CW Awards 2016: Winning Tower Project announced
CWO reveals the winner of its Tower Project of the Year Award, which was announced at last night’s Construction Week Awards 2016
Damac Towers by Paramount Hotels & Resorts, nominated by Damac Properties, was crowned Tower Project of the Year at the Construction Week Awards 2016.
The three-tower project represents a distinctive addition to the skyline of the Business Bay area of Dubai, UAE.
CW’s panel of industry judges praised the development for its exceptional approach to sustainability and its innovative features.
One panellist used just two words to describe the project: “Landmark and iconic.”
Jehad Saleh, director of corporate communications, Damac Properties said: “I feel very excited and believe Damac Towers by Paramount Hotels and Resorts – Damac is an iconic project. It really deserved the award, and on behalf of Damac, I’m really grateful to the judges.”
On what makes the tower distinctive, she said: “The project is quite a [multifaceted development], it’s a four tower complex that sits on one common podium, and the thing that’s innovative about it, is the style of the interiors which are in collaboration with Paramount Hotels and Resorts. The interiors are all Hollywood themed, and that goes across the entire development, whether it be the hospitality project or residential units.”
Gateway Towers, The Pearl-Qatar, nominated by KEO International Consultants, was named this year’s highly commended tower project.
Other shortlisted nominations included Azizi Developments’ Azizi Liatris Residence; Damac Heights, submitted by Ramboll; and Regent Emirates Pearl Hotel, submitted by DeSimone Consulting Engineers.
An independent panel of seven judges, made up from industry professionals from across the GCC and throughout the construction sector, selected winners in 14 categories at the CW Awards 2016.
