Emrill has appointed its former operations director, Alex Davies, to the position of managing director.
In his new role, Davies will be based out of the facilities management (FM) company’s Dubai head office.
With more than 13 years’ experience with Emrill’s shareholding company, Carillion, Davies has held a number of engineering, delivery, and business management roles.
Prior to joining Emrill in 2014, Davies fulfilled numerous director-level positions within Carillion’s engineering, energy services, and FM divisions.
Commenting on his latest appointment, Davies said: “Emrill is well positioned for continued and sustainable double-digit growth. Our focus firmly remains on service excellence to continue building value partnerships with our existing clients, whilst forging new relationships within the industry.
“Further to this, we are looking to drive world-class standards of facilities management across the UAE through innovation and, most importantly, our excellent people.”
Davies holds a master’s degree from The University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. He was recently granted certified status by the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM).
Minelle Gholami, people director for Emrill, said: “The decision to promote Alex to managing director, internally, is true to Emrill’s ongoing strategy to encourage professional development and to recognise and evaluate talent from inside the company wherever possible.
“A significant number of vacancies are filled through internal promotions in the business.”
Davies added: “The UAE is experiencing further growth as it moves towards Expo 2020 and Vision 2021. Emrill is seeing growth in its core sections of aviation, infrastructure, residential, and commercial as a result of this significant investment.
“We are expecting long-term growth in the leisure, retail, and healthcare sectors, in addition to enhancing Emrill’s footprint across the UAE,” he concluded.
