Video: Can BIM technology benefit FM operations?

Thomas A. Bormann, president and CEO of US-based BIM specialist Bormann International, on how BIM can boost FM delivery programmes

Thomas A. Bormann, president and CEO of Bormann International, said building information modelling (BIM) can benefit facilities management (FM) operations due to the wealth of design and construction data it can capture and manage.

Bormann International is a US-based BIM consultancy specialist serving architects, contractors, and building owners.

During a video uploaded to the company's YouTube channel, Bormann added that BIM can incorporate modules to review energy and space management requirements of operational facilities.

This, he added, would help in the formulation of better O&M programmes as well.
