The technician died while trying to avert two cranes from crashing into each other, ultimately preventing their fall and a possible disaster.
Major Khalid Ebrahim Al Hamadi, Director of Difficult Missions Department, said that recovering the body was a very challenging process.
He said that the technician had been struck while trying to separate the two cranes to avoid a collapse, and was killed instantly.
Dubai Police were called to the scene, securing and evacuating the area and recovering the body using alternative cranes through the advice of specialist engineers.
