Transguard, Al Tadawi open $560k Jebel Ali clinic
Transguard and Al Tadawi Medical Centre have joined forces to open a $560,000 medical clinic in Jebel Ali, Dubai
Transguard has joined forces with Al Tadawi Medical Centre to develop a medical clinic in Jebel Ali, Dubai.
The clinic, which is located within Transguard’s Jebel Ali accommodation facility, has cost the companies a combined $560,000 (AED2.07m) for construction, fit-out, and equipment.
The project has been developed to cater for Trasnguard’s growing workforce, which has passed the 55,000 mark. It is the second medical facility to be developed by the two companies.
Greg Ward, managing director of Trasnguard Group, said: “Our first partnership with Al Tadawi in the Muhaisna area of Dubai was a resounding success. During the first 10 months of operation, almost 16,000 employees were welcomed to the centre.
“Our people are our most important asset, and their overall wellbeing is our number-one priority. With initiatives such as these, every member of our team has the opportunity to enjoy a healthier lifestyle, and it also underscores our commitment to wellness and wellbeing for all our staff,” he added.
Transguard employees will be able to use their current medical insurance to use the facility, and any mandatory costs not covered by the company’s corporate medical insurance can be billed directly to the firm.
The clinic will feature an integrated information system to minimise referral processes, and will be supplemented by a fully equipped pharmacy.
“Dr Abdulqader Al Khayat, chief executive officer of Al Tadawi Medical Centre, commented: “There is no greater feeling in business than building something that impacts people’s lives. Transguard has invested in a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme that places their own employees at its core.
“We are proud to be partners with an organisation like Transguard, [which] shares our [contention] that a health workforce leads to a healthy society. We hope to be partnering with many more organisations that have similar CSR programmes in the future,” he added.
Transguard’s Jebel Ali accommodation facility is home to more than 9,000 employees. The new clinic will host two doctors in two shifts, three nurses, and support staff, including a receptionist, a supervisor, and cleaning personnel.
The centre will be open Saturday to Thursday between the hours of 8.00am and 10.00pm.
Transguard has revealed that it is considering opportunities for further initiatives through its partnership with Al Tadawi.
Following successful openings in Muhaisna and Jebal Ali, the facilities management (FM) firm has earmarked Al Quoz as a prospective location for its third medical facility.
