CW Oman Awards 2017: Top hospitality project named

Anantara Hotel & Resort Spa at Jabal Akhdar was named Hospitality Project of the Year at the Construction Week Oman Awards 2017.

The nomination submitted related to work conducted by a joint venture between S&T Interiors and Contracting and ALEC.

Anantara Hotel & Resort Spa at Jabal Akhdar was commended by Construction Week’s panel of industry judges as a good project delivered in a challenging location.

Reflecting on the nominees’ work on the development, one member of the panel said that it was an “awesome result”, adding that it was obviously driven by a clear commitment to innovation and technology.

Also shortlisted for this year’s Hospitality Project of the Year Award were Design Group Engineering Consultants’ (DGEC) Sheraton Oman Hotel Refurbishment, and Atkins’ Sundus Rotana.

An independent panel of seven judges selected winners in 12 categories at the Construction Week Oman Awards 2017.

The event was supported by Gold Sponsor, Aecom; Category Sponsors Al Turki Enterprises (ATE), Design Group Engineering Consultants (DGEC), Khobar Integrated Construction, Sarooj Construction Company, Shapoorji Pallonji, and S&T Interiors and Contracting; Exhibition Partner, The Big Show Oman; Supporting Sponsor, the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB); and Legal Partner, Pinsent Masons.

Winners were announced during a gala dinner at the Grand Hyatt Muscat on Monday, 13 March.
