CW Oman Awards 2017: Top infra project revealed
CWO reveals the winner of the Infrastructure Project of the Year trophy, which was presented during the grand finale of the Construction Week Oman Awards 2017
Aecom collected the Infrastructure Project of the Year trophy at the Construction Week Oman Awards 2017 for its work on Al Ansab Sewage Treatment Plant.
This was one of three accolades bestowed on the US-headquartered consultancy during the course of the grand finale.
One member of Construction Week’s panel of industry judges praised Al Ansab Sewage Treatment plant for the technological design that facilitated safe irrigation, and contributed towards a positive environmental impact, during its construction.
Another panellist commented that, in conjunction with HSE professionals, the project management team planned and implemented the highest health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the development process.
Consoldiated Contractors Company’s (CCC) Batinah Expressway, Package 6 was named this year’s highly commended infrastructure project. It was praised by the panel for the range of unique construction techniques implemented during its execution.
One judge applauded the high standard of delivery achieved within challenging conditions. Another observed that health, safety, and environmental considerations had been embedded into all aspects of the project.
Also shortlisted for this year’s Infrastructure Project of the Year Award were 400KV Grid Station, Izki by Larsen & Toubro (Oman); and Asphalt Road, Wadi Minqal and Wadi Bani Jaber, by Renardet SA & Partners Consulting Engineers.
An independent panel of seven judges selected winners in 12 categories at the Construction Week Oman Awards 2017.

Winners were announced during a gala dinner at the Grand Hyatt Muscat on Monday, 13 March.
