CWO reveals the winner of the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year trophy, which was presented during the grand finale of the Construction Week Oman Awards 2017
Carillion Alawi’s Community Needs Plan (Sustainable Communities) scooped the trophy for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative of the Year at the Construction Week Oman Awards 2017.
Nominees for this award had to demonstrate that they had driven tangible change within the realm of CSR, whether in services to employees, the wider community, or both.
The winning initiative was recognised by Construction Week’s panel of industry judges for its “outstanding contribution and commitment to CSR”.
One panellist described it as a “very good example of employee involvement in local community activities”.
Another judge said that it represented “yet another year of outstanding effort from Carillion Alawi”, adding that the contractor’s employees “clearly enjoy giving back to their communities, and taking part in related activities”.
Also shortlisted for this year’s CSR Initiative of the Year Award were Khobar Integrated Construction’s CSR Strategy, and Larsen & Toubro (Oman)’s Wadi Cleaning Programme.
An independent panel of seven judges selected winners in 12 categories at the Construction Week Oman Awards 2017.
The event was supported by Gold Sponsor, Aecom; Category Sponsors Al Turki Enterprises (ATE), Design Group Engineering Consultants (DGEC), Khobar Integrated Construction, Sarooj Construction Company, Shapoorji Pallonji, and S&T Interiors and Contracting; Exhibition Partner, The Big Show Oman; Supporting Sponsor, the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB); and Legal Partner, Pinsent Masons.
