US-based Hill International has won a $3.3m project management contract to complete the construction of Masdar Institute Neighbourhood as part of Masdar City in Abu Dhabi.

The mixed-use project will include more than nearly 102,200m2 of space including a new commercial office building, two residential blocks, a plaza and underground parking, according to The National.

Mohammed Al Rais, the regional president for Hill International's project management group, said: "Masdar City is a model for sustainable urban development not just regionally but globally. We are extremely proud to have been selected to help Masdar deliver this important project."

The project is also aiming to obtain a three-pearl rating system under Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council's Estidama sustainability ratings as well as a LEED Gold certification through the US Green Building Council.

Hill International has an average growth of 10% per year and is planning more projects in Dubai this year, a senior official said earlier this month.
