Event review: MEFMA Confex 2017, Dubai
fmME rounds up key developments from MEFMA Confex 2017, where public- and private-sector leaders convened to review regional FM performance and prospects
A host of the region’s FM professionals came together at The Address Dubai Marina hotel on 12, 13, and 14 March, 2017, for Middle East Facility Management Association’s (MEFMA) Confex 2017.
The sixth edition of MEFMA Confex was attended by up to 600 FM executives and leaders from across the GCC.
The three-day event featured sessions on FM products, processes, technologies, and trends.
Confex 2017’s agenda also covered programmes that could help FM companies build knowledge and skills, and create growth opportunities in the regional industry.
MEFMA signing memoranda of understanding (MoU) with Bee’ah, Herriot Watt University Dubai Campus, and Bilfinger Sielv UAE and Bilfinger Sharjah Asset Management while at Confex 2017.
Senior vice president of commercial services at Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), Atiq Juma Nassib, and deputy director of Dubai Land Department (DLD), Juma Bin Humaidan, led MEFMA Confex 2017’s opening ceremony.
Addressing Confex 2017’s attendees, Humaidan said: “DLD is eager to be present at important events like this in order to emphasise its leading position in the real estate sector.”
Jamal Abdulla Lootah, president of MEFMA and CEO of Imdaad, added: “MEFMA is proud to host another successful edition of Confex as we move towards expanding the FM sector’s professional capabilities and accessibility to the latest innovations and smart technologies.”
The CEO of DLD’s Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), Marwan Bin Galita, also attended the opening ceremony.
Speaking to fmME about the event, he said: “I’m proud of the [feedback for] Confex 2017 and all that we have achieved with MEFMA over the years. The event grows in size each year and the level of professionalism on display proves that we are on the right track.”
