Hitches & Glitches bags Cayan Tower MEP contract
Hitches & Glitches will establish an onsite rapid response team at Dubai’s Cayan Tower to provide 24-hour home maintenance for the building and its residents
Hitches & Glitches has won a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) contract for Cayan Tower in Dubai Marina.
The UAE-headquartered company, which forms part of Farnek Group, will establish an onsite rapid response team to provide 24-hour home maintenance for the spiral-shaped building and its residents.
The deal was awarded by Cayan Community Management, part of the tower’s Saudi Arabia-based developer, Cayan Group.
James Day, director of Hitches & Glitches, commented: “Under the terms of the annual contract, Hitches & Glitches will provide 24/7 home maintenance that includes an onsite rapid response team for all emergencies and, of course, routine callouts, as well as a one-stop shop for any maintenance required by Cayan’s residents.”
Designed by architects, Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM), the 306m-tall tower was inaugurated in June 2013. The building features 490 apartments, a landscaped podium and terrace, an outdoor infinity pool, and a children’s pool,
Other amenities include a five-storey parking garage, and Liv Nordic, a health spa with treatment rooms, saunas, and a gymnasium.
A statement issued by Cayan Community Management explained: “The MEP systems run through the central core of [Cayan Tower], which accommodates a straight path for utilities, creating efficiency and economy.
“One of the reasons we chose Hitches & Glitches was because of [its] fundamental awareness of the structural design and core services of the building, and the impact of that on residential home maintenance. [The company also has a] progressive attitude towards sustainability and technology in the home,” the statement added.
Through its online store, Hitches & Glitches offers a range of smart home gadgets, including remote monitoring sensors, smart locks, dynamic mood lighting systems, and remote cameras.
“Given the profile of Cayan Tower’s residents, we are confident that there will be a great deal of demand for our smart home gadgets, [which may] result in the exploration of further partnership opportunities with Cayan Community Management,” Day concluded.
