Emirates Motor Company (EMC), the distributor for Mercedes-Benz in Abu Dhabi, has delivered 27 Mercedes-Benz Zetros 6x6 tractor-head trucks to Suhail Al Mazroui Transportation and Heavy Equipment Establishment, an industrial logistics company established in 1982.

The 27 Mercedes-Benz Zetros 3643 AS come with a powerful 12-litre six-cylinder engine sporting 428 HP and supporting a gross combination weight (GCW) of 116 tonnes.

One of the trucks in the deal is the 5,555th Zetros ever produced, and the deal was presided over by senior representatives from both Daimler local and international commercial vehicles teams.

Roland Schneider, president and CEO of Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA, noted: “The delivery of 27 Mercedes-Benz Zetros, including the 5,555th milestone truck marks an important occasion for us.

“It clearly shows that we continue the success story of the impressive Zetros here in the region by now adding 27 units to the fleet of our valued customer Suhail Al Mazroui.”

The event was also attended by Stefan Buchner, head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Europe/Latin America, Till Oberwoerder, head of marketing, sales and services Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Bilal al Ribi, GM for commercial vehicles at EMC, and Hany Tawfik, general sales manager Mercedes-Benz Trucks from EMC.

The trucks will be used by Suhail al Mazroui Est. for heavy equipment transport and oil and gas field installations and supply, where their all-wheel drive and cab-behind engine design will deliver on both manoeuvrability and driving comfort in the extreme off-road applications that they will face.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks is offering the Zetros across the MENA region in various specifications, including 4x4 and 6x6 chassis variants alongside the 6x6 tractor head version, and with engine outputs in the range of 330 HP to 430 HP.
