Muscat Municipality is hosting an international seminar with the theme 'Future of Architectural Identity of the Governorate of Muscat', at the Al Wahat Club in the wilayat of A'Seeb.

The two-day seminar, which opened today, aims to identify the different means of utilising new technologies in ensuring a unique architectural identity for Muscat.

The seminar also aims to highlight architectural features that can help Muscat keep pace with modern development and innovations, while still maintaining its traditional architectural values.

According to Oman News Agency (ONA), Muscat Municipality is seeking to come up with recommendations that can help in the development of an urban and architectural system in the governorate.

It is also reportedly looking into updating legislation and finding solutions to the current challenges it is facing in shaping the architectural identity of Muscat.
