In the following video, the brains behind Legoland Dubai recount how they added the finishing touches to replicas within the theme park’s Miniland area.
Legoland Dubai’s Miniland features Lego replicas of iconic buildings from across the Middle East, not to mention scale models of the world’s 10 tallest buildings.
Each of Miniland’s structures has been replicated in fine detail. Special features include landscaped areas, moving vehicles, operational water features, and accurate lighting.
Siegfried Boerst, general manager of Legoland Dubai, said: “We tried to recreate landscapes; we have a lot of animation, like moving cars, Dubai Metro, the fountain show in front of the Burj Khalifa; and all the buildings are lit up either from the inside or outside.
“For example, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has the same lighting features that you can find on the real mosque in Abu Dhabi.”
Legoland Dubai is the first Legoland theme park in the world to feature an indoor Miniland dome.
The structure houses 14 different clusters, which feature Lego replicas of iconic buildings from across the Middle East and beyond.
Each model was built at workshops owned by Legoland’s parent company, Merlin Entertainments, and shipped to the UAE via air freight.
The following video, which details some of the special features included within Legoland Dubai's Miniland, is the fourth of five films that ConstructionWeekOnline will publish this week.
