Abu Dhabi-based developer, Aldar Properties, has announced that it is entering into the final stages of development for Ansam and Al Hadeel, ahead of their September 2017 handover.

According to the company, developments on Yas Island are progressing well, with various projects being constructed simultaneously. Ansam, which is located on the west side of Yas Island, is nearing completion with façade glazing and internal fit out.

The main contractor package worth $136m (AED500m) for Mayan, a luxury golf and waterfront development on the island, has reportedly been awarded for the construction of five, 11-storey buildings comprising 512 units.

West Yas, Aldar’s first villa community on Yas Island, and Yas Acres, the flagship golf and waterfront villa and townhouse development, continue to make steady headway.

The company noted that at West Yas, the mock-up villas will be open to the public once landscaping is complete.

Aldar is currently evaluating tender submissions for Yas Acres’ main contractor, which will be awarded in the second quarter of this year.

In total, Aldar currently has over 3,500 units under development at Yas Island.

Construction is also continuing on Reem Island as Meera, Aldar’s first mid-market development, makes steady headway, with basement blockwork and casting for the second floor slabs now complete. Testing for the closed canal is nearly complete as it is prepared for flooding later this month.

Plaster boarding at the Al Hadeel development on Al Raha Beach, meanwhile, is almost complete, while internal fit out is ongoing.

Elsewhere, road construction for Nareel Island and the sold-out Al Merief in Khalifa City is expected to commence soon.

In Al Ain, refurbishment works continue at the main entrance, west corridor and restroom facilities of Al Jimi Mall. The columns, retaining wall and footings are said to be steadily progressing for expansion to the west side of the mall, which will add 51 new units over three levels.
