Restrata appoints new VP for telematics division
Restrata recruits David Nicholls, formerly of MiX Telematics, to head up its Situational Awareness & Telematics division based out of Dubai
Restrata has appointed David Nicholls, formerly of MiX Telematics, to head up its technology division as the vice president of Situational Awareness & Telematics ‘SA&T’, based out of Dubai.
A former Infantry Captain with the British Army, Nicholls is experienced in leading public and private sector organisations in some of the eastern hemisphere’s most challenging emerging markets.
In his previous role as head of sales and marketing for MiX Telematics in Dubai, he helped diversify the business away from its core oil and gas market and into sectors such as the supply chain segment.
He also helped to grow the organisation’s international footprint, establishing business links across the MENA region, Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent.
Nicholls has spent his professional career, since the UK Armed Forces, at the cutting edge of technology innovation through business development positions at Track24 and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory in the UK.
Now he will help lead Restrata in the delivery of products and services, including 24/7 global tracking, incident response and fleet optimisation technologies, to reliably connect people, property and equipment in some of the world’s most complex and hostile markets.
Botan Osman, the recently appointed managing director of Restrata, stated: “I am thrilled to welcome David on board. His technical know-how, coupled with his extensive track record in strategic deal making and business development makes him a valuable addition to the team.
“With technology constantly evolving, it’s vital that we stay one step ahead of the game. With David’s knowledge and experience, I am confident that we can grow our technology division further, breaking into emerging markets and regions.”
