Kuwait inks $1.4m contract for study of landfills

The Kuwait Municipality has signed a contract for studying the rehabilitation of three closed landfill sites in Kuwait Al-Qurain, Jleeb Al-Shuwaikh, and North of Ring Road 7.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the municipality's director general, Ahmad Al-Manfouhi, said the seven-phase two-year contract is worth $1.4m (KD431,000).

The project includes data archiving and documentation, and identifying the proper choices and alternatives for the rehabilitation of each landfill, as well as how to use them, he was quoted saying.
