French firms to exhibit smart cities tech in Qatar
The French companies that will be exhibiting at Project Qatar are Bridgin, Guard Industrie, Aximum, Icopal SAS, Controlab, Serge Ferrari SAS, Sterela, and Terreal
The French companies set to participate in Project Qatar will be showcasing smart building and home automation technologies in a bid to reinforce partnerships with existing projects and develop new joint ventures.
Moreover, they will be looking to engage in negotiations with local contractors, distributors, and agents in new areas of activities in the country.
In a statement, Business France, the organiser of the expo’s French pavilion, said the firms selected to participate will be focusing on sustainable and environmentally friendly buildings, energy efficiency, and timber constructions.
Business France added that French exhibitors plan to seize the opportunity to present smart cities solutions, bioclimatic materials, and MEP systems, among other products.
Christelle Peyran, head of Business France Qatar, said: “France is focussed on energy efficiency, sustainable development, and R&D.
“France invested $20.5bn (EUR18.8bn) in 2015 in renovation and energy retrofits, becoming the third market in Europe in terms of eco-friendly buildings. 21% of French companies in the building sector have an R&D centre to develop new materials”.
Noting that the French construction sector has around 350,000 companies with workforce of 1.5 million and sales revenues of $140.4bn (EUR129bn), Business France pointed out that there is a growing demand for sustainable development in Qatar, with profitable segments being hotels and "green" construction that encourage the use of innovative products.
The French companies that will be exhibiting at Project Qatar are Bridgin, Guard Industrie, Aximum, Icopal SAS, Controlab, Serge Ferrari SAS, Sterela, and Terreal.
Project Qatar will take place from 8 - 10 May at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
