Msheireb to develop wellness resort in Qatar
Msheireb Properties said that the development will be Qatar's largest spa and wellness centre, and the Middle East’s first wellness destination resort
Msheireb Properties is set to develop and build a new wellbeing destination in Qatar, the Zulal Wellness Resort.
According to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Msheireb envisions the facility as a platform that will bring together health knowledge from across the world and traditional Arabic and Islamic wellness principles.
The resort will reportedly be developed based on a concept that Msheireb has dubbed “luxeclusive”, which seeks to deliver global luxury standards, while preserving traditional family values, to ensure every visitor’s needs are addressed.
Abdulla Hassan Al Mehshadi, chief executive officer of Msheireb Properties, said: "Set to be the country’s largest spa and wellness centre, and the Middle East’s first wellness destination resort, we believe that our new venture will bring the world’s attention to Qatar and will be a tourism transformation driver.”
He added: "Zulal Wellness Resort will be a haven for international visitors, where they can enjoy health and wellness experiences that bring a true taste of the region. While strengthening our development portfolio, our latest project also brings vital investment to the country, enabling Qatar to grow its tourism sector."
Antoine Georges Saade, executive general manager of Al Sraiya Trading and Contracting, the main contractor of the project, commented: "We are honoured to collaborate with Msheireb Properties as the main contractor to execute one of the most important and leading urban projects in Qatar and the region.
"The new resort is distinguished with its sustainable design and features, and will be a milestone development in the Al Shamal area.”
The project, which will span more than 28ha in a private coastal area known as Khasooma, will be located 120km from Doha, QNA reported.
The development will consist of the Zulal Wellness Resort, which will feature 60 rooms, and the Zulal Family Wellness Resort, which will boast 120 rooms, with shared facilities that can be accessed from both venues.
Msheireb Properties is a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development.
