A total of 16 parks are scheduled to be constructed in Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa City by next year, Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has announced.

The project, which also includes the construction of five playgrounds, will add to the already existing eight parks that have been completed this year, according to Gulf News.

Municipal officials met with residents to discuss their concerns and to outline upcoming developmental projects during a public forum at Khalifa City recently.

Residents at the forum asked for the improvement of entry and exit points within the city to reduce heavy traffic congestion during peak hours.

The shortage of mosques, retail centres and petrol stations in the vicinity of Khalifa City was also raised as pressing concerns that need to be addressed.
