Al-Futtaim Motors launches upgraded Hino 500 Series
Hino and Al-Futtaim Motors unveil the latest medium-duty Hino 500 Series truck with upgraded engine technology, ABS underrun protection and a redesigned cab
Hino and Al-Futtaim Motors have launched the latest medium-duty Hino 500 Series truck in the UAE, featuring an engine upgrade, more safety features and a redesigned cabin for greater driver comfort.
The latest generation of the Hino 500 Series trucks is equipped with a 7.7-litre Euro III-compliant engine with a high pressure common rail fuel injection system and turbocharger technology for maintaining power in any driving conditions while achieving lower fuel consumption and emissions.
The series is suitable for use in applications from tipper and reefer trucks to general cargo vehicles, and includes a range of safety features, including an anti-lock braking system, front underrun protection system (FUPS) and rear underrun protection system (RUPS).
Ramez Hamdan, GM of Hino at Al-Futtaim Motors, said: “This year is proving very positive for Hino, as we continue to grow our market share and introduce new products that meet our customers’ needs.”
The launch is Hino’s second in a few months, following the introduction of the hybrid 300 Series.
Hamdan noted: “Just last month, we launched the UAE’s first hybrid truck in the form of the Hino 300 Series hybrid, and the introduction of the Hino 500 Series allows us to offer a different solution to sectors looking for a reliable truck that offers a host of advanced safety and driver comfort features.
“With companies increasingly aware of the need to reduce emissions and reliance on fossil fuels, the Hino 500 Series also maximises efficiency and significantly reduces consumption thanks to class-leading engine and transmission choices.”
The cabin provides a more comfortable ride, thanks to a semi-floating construction for the cab mount and mounting bushes, resulting in reduced road vibrations and reduced cabin noise.
The optimised cab provides better visibility, better arrangement of the instrument cluster and efficient air flow to keep cool in traffic, as well as a bed space for resting located behind the seat.
Hamdan added: “Providing a more comfortable driving experience is proven to reduce fatigue and in turn increase safety on the roads.”
