Qatar: Smeet opens new plant in Ras Bufontas SEZ

Smeet Ready Mix has opened its new production plant in Ras Bufontas special economic zone, just south of the capital Doha

Smeet Ready Mix has opened its new production plant in Ras Bufontas special economic zone just south of the capital Doha, part of Manateq, owner, developer and operator of specialized economic zones, logistic parks, and warehousing parks in Qatar.

The new ready mix plant was jointly inaugurated by Abdullah Mohammed Al Kuwari, managing director; Sure V. Satyanarayana, acting CEO, Smeet and Damien Healey, senior project manager, Manateq, The Peninsula reported.  

“The Economic Zone offers special incentives and facilities, combined with a host of service offerings to make Ras Bufontas an efficient, sustainable business proposition,” said Al Kuwari. Smeet will supply Manateq concrete products for construction of facilities within the complex.

Smeet was established in 2010 jointly by the Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, Barwa Real Estate Company and The First Investor. Smeet Ready Mix currently has concrete production facilities in Lusail, Duhail and Mesaieed.

At its 300,000sqm. precast factory in Mesaieed, the largest in the MENA region, Smeet produces various precast elements, pavers, kerbs and blocks.
