ADM and its partners conduct quake evacuation drill
HE Musabbah Mubarak Al Murar Al Murar honours strategic partners for supporting emergency training
Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) acting general manager HE Musabbah Mubarak Al Murar honoured the Municipality’s strategic partners including several departments of the General HQ of Abu Dhabi Police.
Among these were the Crisis and Disaster Management, Air Wing, Operations Department, Patrols & Traffic Department, and the Safety and Emergency Department.
He also honoured the efforts of the Directorate General of Civil Defence, and the National Emergency Response Program (Sanid).
“The Municipality is keen to bolster cooperation with all national entities in order to foster an atmosphere conducive to security and safety for all community members, especially when it comes to educating the public on the proper and effective methods for facing crises and emergencies to ensure the safety and protection of the public,” said Al Murar.
Prior to the recognition ceremony, the Municipality carried out an evacuation drill simulating an earthquake and fire outbreak to assess the ability of employees and customers to respond to emergency cases.
The mock drill was made possible by the participation and support of the Crisis & Disaster Management Department - General HQ of Abu Dhabi Police. Other Abu Dhabi Police Department also took part in the drill.
The experiment targeted all employees and people who were present in the main building at the Sheikh Zayed Street in order to verify their readiness to implement emergency response and evacuation procedures in a safe and orderly manner without losses or injuries.
The drill was intended to assess the response to emergency and crisis plan, business continuity plan, the readiness of evacuation and emergency response internal teams, as well as the efficiency and integration of internal processes associated with the emergency response and business continuity.
Al Murar thanked and commended the efforts put by strategic partners during the drill, and for their support towards the Municipality in delivering different workshops and training programmes.
