Bahrain's Alba completes Line 6 FEED study
The FEED Study was led by International Bechtel Co Ltd, the firm appointed as the engineering, procurement, construction, and management (EPCM) contractor for the Line 6 Expansion Project

Bahrain-headquartered aluminium smelter, Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), has announced that it has concluded the optimisation process of its Line 6 Expansion Project.
The development follows the completion of the front-end engineering design (FEED) study in the first quarter of this year, according to Alba.
The FEED Study was led by International Bechtel Co Ltd, the firm appointed as the engineering, procurement, construction, and management (EPCM) contractor for the Line 6 Expansion Project in April 2016.
Alba said that to conduct the study, Bechtel deployed its core team and key personnel in Line 6 Project offices at the Alba site, with the support of a larger engineering and procurement team based in its New Delhi office.
Commenting on the conclusion of the study, Shaikh Daij Bin Salman Bin Daij Al Khalifa, chairman of Alba’s Board of Directors, said: “The Line 6 Expansion Project is no longer a blueprint but a reality. We are very pleased with advancing the Line 6 Expansion Project and expediting the construction phase to [make sure that it is] on schedule.”
Alba noted that with the completion of the FEED study, many value-added initiatives were identified, which are expected to optimise the safe delivery of the project on schedule and within the budget.
