Industry experts debated UAE’s Fire and Safety code in a roundtable organised by MEP Middle East on May 8, 2017.

Participants included Thiru S, divisional manager, TransPro System part of Trans Gulf Electromechanical, Robert Davies, head of fire & life safety, Gary Walton, managing director, JPW Consulting Group, Dipak Jain, head of engineering & procurement, Trans Gulf Electromechanical, and Gaurav Bhatnagar, head of sales and marketing Middle East and Africa, Armacell

They discussed on the impact of such an updated code on the design and technical specifications of a building. If there was any change in the responsibilities and workings of MEP project stakeholders. The importance of design in making building safe along with inspection during construction to confirm compliance to the design. In addition, the issue of accountability kept creeping in during the conversations.
