Xylem fortifies presence in Qatar with conference
US global water technology company Xylem recently held a conference in Doha to strengthen its presence and involvement in Qatar
Rye Brook, New York, USA-based global water technology company Xylem recently held a conference in Doha to strengthen its growing network of partners and customers in the country.
The Xylem team delivered updates on their product offerings and portfolio of solutions that comprise water treatment, analyses and monitoring methodologies and data analytics for water and utilities services. Over 100 industry consultants and contractors attended the conference.
“Qatar’s ambitious infrastructure plans reinforce the need for water solutions that are smart, adaptable, and capable of handling complex tasks at hand. We hope to forge stronger ties with partners, customers, and end-users allowing us to deliver our products and services,” said Vincent Chirouze, regional director, Xylem Middle East and Africa.
He added that the company hoped to harness its 19,000sqm manufacturing plant in Dubai to make wastewater treatment equipment to support demand spurred by various infrastructure projects in Qatar.
Xylem opened its Doha, Qatar offices in the last quarter of 2016. The company has committed itself to a $35m investment strategy in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Current facilities include a manufacturing plant and rental and services business in Dubai, as well as an office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Xylem.
The MENA region only accounts for 5% of the company’s current portfolio, but Xylem has ambitions to increase that to double digits over the next few years.
