Dubai Municipality (DM) has started an $8.2m (AED30m) beautification project on Al Khail Road.
The nine-month initiative will involve the section between the highway’s Business Bay crossing and Zabeel 1 intersection.

“The project consists of 36,000m2 of pipes, three irrigation system controllers, a reservoir, an irrigation water pumping station, 240 solar power units, 8,000 lamps, and [excavating] 75,000m3 of soil,” he explained.
The initiative’s agricultural design components will include 400 trees, 11,000 shrubs, 27,000mw2 of soil mats, and 20,000m2 of green areas, Ahmed added.
The area will also feature 35,000m2 of blue grass and 44,000 pebbles of different colours.
