The UAE’s Ministry of Infrastructure Development has completed construction of a $13.9m cultural centre in Fujairah.

The development is due to be handed over next week.

Mariam Abdul Kareem, head of the MoID’s implementation department, said that the cultural centre project – along with the ministry’s other ongoing projects – is characterised by modern architecture.

In a bid to promote sustainability, the facility has also been designed to reduce energy consumption, according to UAE state news agency, WAM.

Kareem also noted that the MoID would continue to construct and maintain government establishments according to international standards, green building regulations, and sustainability requirements.

The strategy is in keeping UAE Vision 2021, she added.
