Abu Dhabi-based developer Miral has announced plans to develop the Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Resort.

As part of a $3.3bn (AED12bn) development plan announced by Miral for the southern end of Yas Island earlier this year, the new hotel will include a multi-purpose conference centre, seven dining outlets and an urban beach concept with an infinity pool.

The 641-Room Property will be located in the Yas Bay and is scheduled to open in 2019.

B.R. Kiran, chief portfolio officer of Miral, said: “The creation of a world-class family resort at the heart of Yas Bay, our iconic waterfront development, will provide visitors with a five-star opportunity to extend their leisure and business stays and enjoy the unique attractions and memorable experiences that only Yas Island can offer.”

Miral appointed Faithful+Gould last month to provide project management services for its the Yas Bay development, where the company would work on phase one of the two-phase project under the terms of a four-year contract.

Phase 1 of the the Yas Bay project is expected to be fully operational by 2019.

The South of Yas Island development is targeting more than 15,000 new residents, 14,000 daily visitors and 10,000 working professionals at the new campus of the twofour54 media zone.

Miral is aiming to position Yas Island as one of the world’s top 10 destinations by 2022.
