Jordan sees 16% increase in construction licenses in Q1

A total of 13,118 licenses were issued in Jordan during the January-April period, a 15.8% increase from the same period last year

A total of 13,118 licenses were issued in Jordan during the January-April period, a 15.8% increase from the same period last year.

According to a statement by Jordan’s Department of Statistics (DoS), the number of licenses issued was up from 11,325 in the same period last year, The Jordan Times reported.

The total area of construction licensed during the same period also stood at 4,516 thousand square metres, up by 14% of that of the same period in 2016, totalling 3,963 thousand square metres, the DoS revealed in a report.

Almost half of the total licensed construction area was recorded in Amman, the capital city, at 44%.
