What was your main motivation for signing up as sponsor this year?

We at Faisal Jassim Group believe in working hand-in-hand with the pioneers and professional stakeholders of the electro-mechanical industry. MEP Middle East magazine has been one of the leading icons serving the industry with latest updates on the news on opportunities, challenges, innovations and changing regulations in the GCC region. Having a professional forum presenting the industry views and suggestions is critical to drive the changes needed to improve the electro-mechanical business and work environment. We believe in partnering and supporting those stakeholders who have contributed to the MEP fraternity.

We have been a continuous source of support and encouragement to our stakeholders and wish to be an integral part of celebrating their sincere efforts and achievements. This is a motivational factor for sponsoring every year as we continue to celebrate the spirit of achieving and reaching greater milestones with each passing year.

What are you looking forward to the most at the awards this year?

We are looking forward to hear from the different stakeholders on the latest technologies and achievements in our industry. An opportunity to meet and greet our partners and also to network with the industry peers. It has been always a pleasure to celebrate successes and recognise outstanding performers.

We are the MEP product suppliers for a majority of renowned projects and we work with renowned consultants during the design stage. Therefore, we are eager to know which of the projects and consultants win the awards. This definitely will add value to us in many ways.

We have been supporting the consultants and clients by providing and updating the latest product information over the years. Hence, it is always our pleasure to support such events where these consultants are felicitated for their outstanding work in our field.

What are your company’s future plans?

We at Faisal Jassim Group believe that our future depends on us, and helping our employees and customers to be more successful is our priority. We have always been proactive in hearing from these stakeholders and have acted based on their views.

This year we have seen a major growth in our business; in addition, we have been promoting and encouraging the efficient use of resources and innovative solutions to increase our competitiveness in the market.

We have been enhancing the engineering and manufacturing capabilities by diversifying product portfolio and strengthening GCC presence. We believe that every product whether its for    water heating solutions, pumping systems or  even air handling units can be developed into a brand of our own, that will have its own specification and standards.  So our focus will be into this direction in the time to come.

How is the market shaping up? What market trends have you noticed this year?

The market outlook is positive. We do believe companies with strong technical foundations including high employee’s engagement and customer satisfaction scores, will always continue to grow.

The trend we see now, most of the customers prefer to work with strong partners who have the technical and financial strength to support them execute their projects. They value their partners for technical knowledge and delivering on their promises.

We see the stakeholders prefer partners who are reliable in terms of supporting them from the design stage through the execution stage. They value the support receives in terms of the selection and sizing of equipments etc. This adds trust to associate on a long term basis.

What are the main opportunities and challenges in the market?

Our challenges for this year were the delays in government spending due to lower global oil prices and shortage in financing from banks to the stakeholders of building industry. We have seen many actions taken recently by governments and central banks addressing these challenges. We can see the market stabilising with a positive outlook for the next year.

This has created an opportunity for leading companies to be more innovative in finding the right solutions. We as suppliers are always supporting our customers whether consultants, owners, or contractors by finding the right price-quality solution to their needs without compromising on efficiency and output expected by our products and systems.

One of the opportunities that we have in today’s market is the potential building retrofit business in the UAE. However, there should be mechanism in place to initiate this business and to educate the building owners about the advantage of replacing or retrofitting the units at an affordable price as well as on the ROI. Banks and other financial institutions should be willing to come forward along with the support of government bodies with an incentive plan for those projects providing energy-efficient sustainable and green solutions.

Our approach to the future remains positive and I am confident that we will see growth. Together with our customers we will reinforce our relationships that are built on trust and reliance.

The MEP Middle East Awards, which will be held on November 8, is the premier platform for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing sector in the UAE to recognise its achievements.
