New standards in Oman’s facilities management soon
Country facing challenges in offering total facilities management, and new rule will address those
A new precedent for the Oman’s FM sector was discussed at an event held by MEFMA (Middle East Facilities Management Association) in Oman.
A spokesperson from QBG, one of the sponsors of the event, said: “The necessity of FM in the Omani market and the main challenges faced by the country to achieve total facilities management (TFM) standards were conversed by the panel members.”
The session ended with tips on how the various stakeholders can modify the FM module to fit the Omani market considering the importance of quality in FM.
At the event it was also revealed that a new body consisting of key Omani stakeholders will develop the entire concept of FM in order to widen its awareness throughout the country.
Oman-based FM service provider, QBG is set to play a vital role in the facilitation of the new body in the country.
The event was held under the theme, “The Critical Role of FM in Achieving Sustainability”.
Other major companies such as Omantel, OAMC (Oman Airports Management Company) and PDO (Petroleum Development Oman) were present at the event.
