QSi Management Consultancy has announced plans to host two construction-related training courses in Abu Dhabi, UAE in July 2017.
The courses, which will be delivered in association with Contract Control International (CCI), will address the topics of construction contract management and construction claims.
Both courses will be presented by George Strohfeldt, principal at CCI.
Based on the FIDIC 1999 Red Book, the ‘Construction Contracts Management Training’ session will take place from 24-25 July. The two-day workshop has been designed to help industry practitioners better understand the principles underlying construction contracts, as well as post-award administration procedures.
The course will cover the administrative functions of owners and developers, main contractors, sub-contractors, and consultants involved in building and construction; civil and heavy engineering; road and rail; electrical and mechanical; mining infrastructure; electricity and water utilities; oil and gas; petrochemical and processing; telecommunications; and government projects.
The ‘Introduction to Construction Claims’ course will be held on 26 July, and will also use the FIDIC 1999 Red Book as a frame of reference. The one-day introductory workshop will address common types of construction claims, and explore related practical and legal issues.
The session has been designed to assist construction professionals in the preparation, assessment, and administration of claims, and to highlight the various legal categories under which claims may be submitted.
