Volvo Construction Equipment names Melker Jernberg, formerly of metallurgy companies Höganäs and SSAB, as its president, as Martin Weissburg moves back to the US
Volvo Construction Equipment has appointed Melker Jernberg to be its president from 2018 — to replace Martin Weissburg who, for family reasons, has decided to move back to the US and take up a position as senior advisor to the Volvo Group’s president and CEO Martin Lundstedt.
Melker Jernberg is currently president and CEO of the Sweden-based powder metallurgy company Höganäs. Prior to this he was executive vice president and head of business for the EMEA region at Sweden-based steel manufacturer SSAB.
Martin Lundstedt, president and CEO of the Volvo Group, commented: “Martin Weissburg has, through his strong leadership, been key to the considerable improvement in the performance of Volvo Construction Equipment and he will continue to have senior positions within the Volvo Group.
“Martin Weissburg will remain in his position until year end 2017 and take up his new position as Senior Advisor to me during the course of Q1 2018.”
