Blue Star International appoints new CEO in Dubai

Dawood Bin Ozair has been appointed as the chief executive officer of Blue Star International FZCO with effect from 30 May 2017.

Dubai-headquartered Blue Star International FZCO is a subsidiary company formed by India-based Blue Star Limited.

Blue Star International FZCO will facilitate the International Business Group of Blue Star Limited that comprises its product exports business and MEP projects and service joint ventures in Malaysia, Oman and Qatar.

Talking about the appointment, Ozair said: “Being part of the HVAC industry for a long time, I have always looked up to Blue Star with its rich heritage of being a leader in cooling products for over seven decades. I am extremely delighted to be a part of the Blue Star family. My new role is exciting as well as challenging, and I look forward to it.”

Ozair is an engineering graduate from AMU, Aligarh and has worked with Engineering Projects India Ltd, Voltas Ltd and GIBCA Group, before moving to Al-Futtaim Engineering, Dubai in 1980.

Since 2014, Ozair was the senior managing director of Al-Futtaim Engineering Group where he was heading a multi-disciplinary engineering organisation operating in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt. 

Ozair is a member of ASHRAE, Indian Professional & Business Council and the American Business Council, Dubai.
