Bahrain's Alba launches safety awareness campaign for contractors
The safety awareness campaign is targeted at Line 6 contractors and seeks to draw attention to heat stress, dehydration, and other summer-related health concerns
Aluminium Bahrain has launched an awareness campaign aimed at improving understanding of safety and health issues common during the summer months.
Called “My Health … My Responsibility”, the company’s new safety awareness campaign is targeted at the contractors of its Line 6 project. It seeks to draw attention to heat stress, dehydration, and other summer-related health concerns, said Alba.
The campaign was launched during a two-day event that was organised by Alba, in partnership with Bahrain’s Ministry of Health, and held under the patronage of the undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, Subah bin Salem Al Doseri.
Commenting on the campaign, Tim Murray, chief executive officer of Alba, said: “We are pleased to team up with the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, along with the Ministry of Health, to safeguard the safety of our employees and contractors, especially as Line 6 construction is underway.
"We also believe that safety is woven into our business as we aim […] to maintain a safe working environment, especially in the hot summer months.”
