In his new role, Krull will oversee operation plans and programmes within the US-headquartered consultancy’s systems division.
The move will help to ensure operational excellence and high-quality project delivery within the sector, according to Parsons.
Commenting on Krull’s appointment, Mike Johnson, group president of Parsons, said: “William’s worldwide expertise in advanced rail and transit systems will help us deliver the latest in technology and implementation best practices to our customers.”
With 30 years of engineering and leadership experience, Krull has managed global programmes worth almost $4bn.
During the course of his career, Krull has worked in the fields of positive train control, communication-based train control, and various signalling systems. He also has experience of new product development, safety assurance, and field support.
Krull holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Texas Technical University, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
As VP for rail, transit, and industrial systems, he will operate out of Parsons’ Atlanta office.
Parsons has supported several of the GCC’s major rail projects, including Dubai Metro and Stage 1 of Etihad Rail in the UAE.
