UAE bank swaps cladding at under-construction HQ
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank confirmed that cladding panels which were recently installed at its under-construction headquarters have been removed
UAE banking giant Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has reportedly swapped out the external cladding material being used on its new headquarters (HQ), currently under construction along the emirate's Airport Road.
In a statement, ADIB said the cladding panels that were recently installed on the outer walls of its new HQ will be replaced.
ADIB's chief operations officer, Sagheer Mufti, said: "ADIB is continuing work on its new HQ located on Airport Road in Abu Dhabi.
"As part of the process of finalising the building, new cladding is being mounted that meets the highest local and international standards and requirements."
The bank did not disclose the reason behind the change of cladding, Arabian Business reported.
ADIB will move into the new building early in 2018.
Cladding is among the key components expected to be addressed in the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code 2017.
