UK-headquartered construction and project management consultancy Turner & Townsend has announced its seventh year of successive growth, with turnover of $640m for the year ending end April 2017, an increase of 20% from $533m for the previous year.

The global business, which involves some of the world’s big-ticket capital projects and programmes across the real estate, infrastructure and natural resources sectors has delivered profit after tax of $47.2m, a rise of 22% from $38.6m, the company revealed in a statement.

The company’s Middle East business also performed well over the last twelve months, resulting in a 42% increase in revenue to $59.4m and 24% increase in profit.

Key projects in Dubai include The Palm and the expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport (Dubai World Central).

“These encouraging results reflect the strength of the market in the Middle East. Key projects such as Expo 2020 in Dubai are energising the real estate and infrastructure markets and the overall push to diversify economies away from a carbon base has enabled us to broaden our own project portfolio into new areas, including manufacturing,” remarked Alan Talabani, managing director, Middle East, Turner & Townsend.
