Engineering Contracting Company LLC (ECC) has been awarded a multi-storey carpark project near Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), in a joint-venture project with McLaren Construction.

The project will comprise 2,800 parking spaces within a five-storey carpark and will include two helicopter pads for VIP access.

The project will also accommodate multiple large scale external LED advertising screens.

Construction, which began in March 2017, is expected to take 12 months to complete and will cover a built-up area of 89,000m2.

Kareem Farah, director and COO, ECC, said: “We are pleased to be working with McLaren on our first multi-storey carpark project, adding to the long list of diverse projects we have undertaken across our 42 year history in the UAE.”

The DWTC carpark was designed by Parsons Architecture and will give more accessibility to events, conferences and exhibitions within the ongoing One Central project in the area.

“Visitors to DWTC and surrounding venues can soon expect improved access and reduced congestion, especially around high profile events, as the new project contributes to the ongoing development of infrastructure in the area,” Farah added.
