Fire breaks out at UAE petrochemicals factory

Civil defense teams from all seven emirates were reportedly involved in the firefighting operation, with no injuries recorded from the incident

A fire was contained at a petrochemicals factory in the UAE's Umm Al Quwain emirate on 22 July, 2017. 

Civil defense teams from Umm Al Quwain, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, and Abu Dhabi, in addition to police departments, controlled the blaze, the UAE's Ministry of Interior said in a statement.

According to local daily Gulf News, civil defense teams from Fujairah were also involved in the operation.

The factory is situated in the emirate's Umm Al Thawab industrial zone. 

No injuries were reported from the incident, which the Umm Al Quwain civil defense team recorded at 9pm.
