Faithful+Gould (F+G) has announced the appointment of Paul Sweeney as the new head of programme management for its business in Saudi Arabia.

In a statement, the company said that Sweeney is new to the Middle East. Before joining Faithful+Gould, he was with AECOM, where he performed a number of roles, including head of project management. He was also a director and partner at Davis Langdon in the UK.

With over 25 years’ experience, he brings a wealth of programme, project, and operational experience, with recent responsibilities including business unit and financial planning, performance and delivery, staff development, and mentoring and business development amongst others, according to Faithful+Gould.

Commenting on Sweeney’s appointment, Spencer Wylie, Faithful+Gould’s KSA country director, said: “The demand for our programme and project management services has risen exponentially, making this an opportune time for Paul to join us.

“His appointment further enables F+G’s growth strategy, not just for KSA but for the wider region, aimed at ensuring we remain in a position to deliver the best possible solutions to our clients and supporting the delivery of their projects on time, to budget and to their quality aspirations.”

Wylie added: “2016/17 has been a great year for Faithful+Gould in Saudi Arabia. We were appointed on a number of major transformational projects, such as […] a mixed-use and leisure development that is set to attract millions of domestic visitors.

“We are [also] cost managers on several regional mall developments, and we have implemented a programme management office for the roll out of a countrywide fibre optic network.  We are very excited to see what 2017/18 brings with Paul joining our existing team in country.”

The consultancy is reportedly expecting its order book in the kingdom to grow by 15% by next year.
