The $76.2m (AED280m) Z35 Sector road project being developed in the UAE's capital is progressing as planned, officials from Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) revealed.

Internal roads and infrastructure works for residential plots over an area of 150 ha (1.5 million sqm) will be carried out for the project.

Z35 Sector is one of the four infrastructure projects underway in Abu Dhabi's Mohammed Bin Zayed city, which are being developed as part of the Abu Dhabi Plan, and have a combined construction value of $177m (AED650m).

Located in Mohammed Bin Zayed city, Z35 Sector comprises road and infrastructure works – including storm water, potable water, and sewerage networks – in addition to telecom, street lighting, and electricity networks.

Saleh Al Sheibah Al Mazrouei, Musanada’s acting roads and infrastructure executive director, added: "21 primary sub-stations will also be developed for the project.

"The project, anticipated to be completed by next March, will serve 517 residential plots, four mosques, three schools, and 28 community and sports facilities."

Project works have been split across three contracts, WAM reported.

He added: "A fully integrated infrastructure is being delivered as per international standards and in line with the requirements of the relevant service entities."
