UAE's Drake and Scull names new board member
Mohammad Atatreh's appointment was announced following the company's latest board meeting, during which Khalaf Sultan Al Daheri resigned from the board
Drake and Scull International (DSI) announced the appointment of Mohammad Atatreh as a board member.
Atatreh's appointment was announced following the company's latest board meeting, during which Khalaf Sultan Al Daheri resigned from the board.
DSI's newest board member has previously held a similar role at Tabarak Commercial Investment, where he contributed to the management of the firm's real estate development and construction portfolio.
Atatreh is also part of Al Falah University's board of trustees.
In a statement to Dubai Financial Market, DSI said Atatreh's "inclusion in the [board] continues a series of key [...] appointments aimed at ensuring business continuity and achieving the group’s strategic objectives", which would prepare the company "for a new phase of recovery and sustainable growth".
This June, DSI announced it has undertaken a capital restructuring exercise that will see it increase its focus on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) sector projects.
Remarking on the development, Wael Allan, CEO of DSI, said: "Our strategy is simple – do what we are good at.
"We are good at MEP, and we are very good at that in the UAE. Our core competency is MEP and our core geography is the UAE.
"The company is well positioned to benefit from its leadership position in the MEP sector, and to secure profitable projects in the UAE market in the near future."
DSI’s project portfolio includes MEP service delivery for Louvre Abu Dhabi (pictured), UAE Presidential Palace, The Address Residence Fountain Views, and Al Habtoor City.
