Oman's Nizwa STP to get sand refineries in Q2 2018

Sand refineries with a total capacity of 10,000 cubic metres per day will be installed by Haya Water to improve the quality of treated water at the sewage treatment plant

Oman's Haya Water is currently implementing numerous projects to enhance efficiencies at the Nizwa sewage treatment plant (STP), it has been revealed. 

One of these projects, which involves the installation of sand refineries to improve the quality of treated water, will be completed during the second quarter of 2018.

The refineries will have a total capacity of 10,000 cubic metres per day, state agency ONA reported.

Among Haya Water's other projects at Nizwa STP is one to improve the efficiency of the odour disposal system at its pumping stations.

Meanwhile, the company has repaired 15 inspection chambers that were leaking underground water Nizwa STP.

Haya Water has also completed the supply and installation of a sludge separator, which is expected to boost the treatment process at the STP.
